This session discusses the recently published book by HE Nabil Fahmy, Former Foreign Minister of Egypt, which examines the current conflict between the United States, on one hand, and Russia and China, on the other, over reshaping the existing international system following the end of the Cold War, where Russia and China are pushing towards a multipolar international system, while Washington seeks to maintain the existing hegemonic system.
The book also addresses the repercussions of this conflict on the Middle East, including the interactions between major powers in the region and the balance of power in the area.
The discussion will be followed by a book signing session.

An Egyptian diplomat who formerly served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Egypt, and also served as Egypt's Ambassador to the United States. In August 2009, he was appointed as the Dean of the School of Public Affairs at the American University in Cairo.

He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in business administration from the United Arab Emirates University.
He joined the editorial team of Aletihad newspaper in 2002, working as a field correspondent in the local news department for 10 years. He also served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief for local news, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Aletihad, and then Acting Executive Director of the Editorial and Publishing Sector.
Dr Al Kaabi writes a weekly column in Aletihad newspaper, specializing in local and political affairs, and newsroom management.He is the Executive Director of the Future Research and Advanced Studies Centre in Abu Dhabi since September 2022 to present, and a specialist researcher in American affairs, focusing on US foreign policy, the role of administrative and congressional institutions, and the role of lobbying firms.
He previously served as Deputy Director of the Future Research and Advanced Studies Centre from 2019 to 2022, and formerly worked as a Media Attaché at the Egyptian Embassy in Washington from 2008 to 2012.
